Becoming: Goals & Habits

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 27, 2026

This policy describes the iOS app Becoming, listed on the App Store as “Becoming: Goals & Habits.” It covers the app only. The AboveTheFold.dev website has its own policy at /privacy.

Who we are

Becoming is published by AboveTheFold.dev, Athens, Greece. For this policy, AboveTheFold.dev is the controller of the personal information described here. Contact us at info@abovethefold.dev or through the contact form.

The short version

Everything you write in Becoming stays on your iPhone. There are no accounts, and we never receive your goals, notes or reviews. Two companies, RevenueCat and Superwall, help us sell the optional Becoming+ subscription. They receive an anonymous ID and purchase and upgrade-screen information, never your content.

What stays on your iPhone

Becoming stores these things in the app on your device:

  • life areas, goals, milestones and progress values
  • actions, recurring actions and when you completed them
  • daily disciplines and your checklist history
  • daily notes, weekly reviews and monthly scorecard entries
  • your profile: the name and “who I want to become” statement, if you enter them
  • settings, such as reminders, quiet hours, theme and the app lock

We do not run accounts or servers, and Becoming does not sync this data anywhere. It is included in your iPhone backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) if you have backups turned on. Apple handles those backups under your own settings. Apple’s privacy policy is at apple.com/legal/privacy.

Reminders, Face ID and export

Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. There is no push-notification server. If you start a free trial, the app may also schedule a local reminder before the trial ends.

If you turn on the app lock, iOS checks your Face ID or passcode. The app only learns whether unlocking succeeded. It never receives biometric data.

Export creates a file on your iPhone. It goes only where you choose to save or share it.

Purchases and the upgrade screen

Becoming+ is an optional subscription through Apple. Apple charges your Apple Account. We never see your payment card number. The price is shown in the app before you pay.

Two companies process purchase and upgrade-screen data so the subscription can be unlocked and the upgrade screen can be shown. They do not receive your goals, habits, notes, reviews or scorecard. We do not sign you in with them, and we do not send them your name or email.

RevenueCat

RevenueCat records purchase and subscription transactions. Its SDK also uses an anonymous app user ID, plus device and app information such as device type and operating system. RevenueCat’s own description of end-user data is device and operating-system details, and transaction details such as the time the app was last used and the Apple receipt. RevenueCat does not collect health data, payment card numbers, or precise location.

Superwall

Superwall shows the upgrade screen. Its SDK collects upgrade-screen and usage events, an anonymous app user ID, and device attributes. Those attributes include a vendor identifier, device model, locale, app version, subscription status, and similar technical details. Superwall also derives region, country, and city from the IP address. It does not receive anything you write in the app.

On the App Store, this appears as Identifiers, Purchases and Usage Data, linked to you. That is because the anonymous ID connects purchase records from the same device. It is never combined with your name or contact details, because we do not have them.

Why we process this information

Purchase data handled by Apple and RevenueCat is used to provide the subscription you asked for. That is performance of a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).

Upgrade-screen and usage events handled by Superwall are used to operate and improve the purchase flow. That is a legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

International transfers

RevenueCat and Superwall are based in the United States. They process data for us under data processing terms that include safeguards for international transfers, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Tracking and sales

We do not sell your information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use the advertising identifier or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. Becoming shows no ads. The app opens a web address only when you tap a link, such as this page.

How long information is kept

Everything you create stays on your iPhone until you delete it. We have no server copy to erase.

Apple and RevenueCat keep purchase records for as long as they need them to provide the subscription, prevent fraud, and meet legal duties. Superwall keeps the upgrade-screen data described above under its own policy.

How to delete

  • In the app, open Settings → Data & privacy → Delete all data.
  • Or delete the app to remove all of Becoming’s data from that iPhone.

Older iPhone backups may keep a copy until they are replaced. Apple may still keep its own record of a purchase. Apple’s refund and purchase tools remain Apple’s.

Children

Becoming is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your rights

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you can ask to access, correct, delete, or restrict your personal information, object to certain uses, and ask for a copy in a portable format. You can also complain to your data protection authority. In Greece, that is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority.

Everything you write is already in your hands: you can export it as a file or delete it from Settings → Data & privacy. For anything held by RevenueCat or Superwall, email info@abovethefold.dev. We reply within 30 days. Because we do not know who you are, please include the purchase date and the order ID from your Apple receipt so we can find the records.

Where the CCPA applies, you can ask what personal information is collected, ask for deletion or correction, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Changes

This page is the current policy. When it changes, the new text is posted here. If you keep using Becoming after that change, the updated policy applies.
